Accountability Officer,
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG

Amanda is the Accountable Officer for the six CCGs in the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire integrated care system’s footprint, and took on the role in November 2018 after serving as Chief Operating Officer for both the Mansfield and Ashfield, and Newark and Sherwood CCGs for more than six years. She also served as Joint SRO of the Mid-Nottinghamshire Better Together programme between 2014 and 2018. This was a Vanguard Primary and Acute Care System (PACS) site, with an Alliance across health and local government. Amanda has a clinical background, working as a nurse and a midwife before moving into senior management. In 2001 Amanda was awarded a PhD for research investigating decision-making during pregnancy. In her capacity as a consultant midwife, Amanda worked at regional and national levels. She chaired a working group on behalf of the National Screening Committee, which developed national standards for ultrasound consent in pregnancy. She has also edited midwifery text books.  

  • Examining how the partnership will provide a joint up service for patients to access GP, mental health and A&E services in one key location
  • Outlining the beneficial impact the hub will have on A&E patient flow within the local area, including tackling overcrowding, as the current department designed for 40,000 patients currently services 100,000
  • Understanding how the new care hub will allow patients to be diverted to primary care through the primary care zones, ensuring they receive appropriate care in the correct place and reducing overcrowding in emergency care departments
  • Sharing guidance on successfully bidding and winning £46 million worth of government funding to establish the Urgent Care Hub
